Saying Goodbye to 10 years of long hair in aid of Cystic Fibrosis!
On 16th August 2011 four brave executives at Experian Ireland raised funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland in a sponsored ‘Shave or Wax’.

Brendan Sheridan, Head of Data, Charlie Brown, Group Company Secretary, Gordon Syms, Finance Manager, Experian Ireland and Antony Barnes, Group Treasurer raisedo over €4,000 in personal and online donations through their charity website (www.mycharity.ie/event/exp_headshave) well ahead of the €1500 target they set. Brendan Sheridan, Head of Data at Experian Ireland, sacrificed a head of shoulder length hair that had been his pride and joy for over 10 years! “It was traumatic losing my lovely locks, but I was even more worried about how my 14 month old daughter would react. Would she even recognise me? Luckily all was well. Tobe honest, I didn’t have to think twice when I was asked to participate in this event. Cystic Fibrosis is Ireland’s most common genetic disease and the Association does great work supporting people with CF and their families.”, he said.

Charlie Brown, Experian’s Group company secretary experienced the pain of leg waxing - not once, but twice. He had been warned not to come home unless both legs are ‘smooth as a baby’s bottom’! “I knew how sore it was to rip off a plaster but luckily I'd been warned that the pain of waxing would be ten times as bad. Having both legs done was a bit daunting, but I ensured my sponsors they must pay double the sponsorship money as a result! There is no doubt that Cystic Fibrosis is a worthy charity and I would like to thank everyone who has supported us to date. People can still donate on the mycharity.ie website or direct to any of us in Experian”, said Charlie.
The Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland is Experian’s charity of the year. So far the company and its employees has raised almost €7,000 for the charity. For more information about the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland charity, visit www.cfireland.ie.
